1. DEFINITIONS

MARE & MONS, or US or WE, refers to MARE & MONS, obrt za turizam, vl. Sonja Pernar, Malinska, Zidarići, Rova 43, 51511, Croatia.

GDPR refers to the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons regarding the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, repealing Directive 95/46/EC).

SERVICES refers to gastronomic offers and accommodation services in an exclusive apartment complex provided by MARE & MONS.

PERSONAL DATA / PERSONAL INFORMATION means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable living individual.

CONTROLLER refers to the natural or legal person who determines the purposes and means of processing personal data and is responsible for processing such personal data under the GDPR.

PROCESSOR refers to a natural or legal person who processes personal data on behalf of the controller.

SUB-PROCESSOR refers to a natural or legal person who processes personal data under the controller’s agreement and following our instructions.

YOU refers to an individual whose personal information is collected and processed by MARE & MONS.

2. ABOUT MARE & MONS

MARE & MONS is responsible as a Controller for all personal data you provide in connection with offering our Services.

MARE & MONS provides accommodation services in an exclusive apartment complex alongside gastronomic offers. When providing Services and processing personal data, we act as either a controller or processor, depending on the context.

We act as the controller when processing personal information for our purposes, and we are committed to processing it as described in this Privacy Notice.

3. COLLECTING, PROCESSING, AND KEEPING PERSONAL DATA

Unless otherwise agreed, we collect only the necessary personal data required for our business relationship. The data may be collected directly from you or indirectly for the following reasons:

  • Booking accommodation;
  • General inquiry via email;
  • Initiating communication via website contact form or social media;
  • Browsing our website, including website delivery, security and embedded content;
  • Clicking links to other websites.

3.1. Booking accommodation through Rentlio

Personal data collected: Full name, city, country, email, telephone number.
Purpose: Exclusively for accommodation booking via Rentlio.

Payment information (such as card details) is not available to us and is protected under the highest security protocols, accessible only to banks for authorization.

Legal basis: Performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6.1(b)).

Retention period: If no contract is entered into, personal data is deleted within six months after our last communication.

3.2. General inquiry via email

Personal data collected: Full name, email address, telephone number, country, and additional business-related details (e.g., company name, business role).

Legal basis: Performance of a contract (GDPR Article 6.1(b)) and legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6.1(f)).

Retention period: If no contract is entered into, personal data is deleted within six months after the last communication.

3.3. Communication via social media

Personal data collected: Name, email address, and telephone number.

Legal basis: Consent (GDPR Article 6.1(a)) and legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6.1(f)).

Retention period: If you do not use our Services, we will keep your data until you withdraw consent or object to processing.

3.4. Website delivery and security

Cloudflare delivers this static website. Website delivery, security and embedded-service providers may process technical request information, including IP address, browser and device details. Google Analytics and advertising tags are not enabled in this version of the website. Booking, maps, contact-form and newsletter services have their own privacy notices. 4. WHO WE SHARE PERSONAL DATA WITH

We may share personal data with:

  • Service providers for website delivery and security (Cloudflare), enquiries (Web3Forms and hCaptcha), newsletter subscriptions (Brevo and Cloudflare Turnstile), embedded maps (Google Maps), accommodation booking (Rentlio), and website maintenance by VELES GROUP, obrt za trgovinu i usluge.
  • Authorized entities for fraud prevention and legal obligations.
  • Government authorities when legally required for security or criminal investigations.

Personal data will not be shared with third parties unless legally required or explicitly permitted by you.

5. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

We may share personal information with third parties outside the European Economic Area (EEA), ensuring all transfers comply with GDPR safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other appropriate mechanisms.

6. YOUR RIGHTS

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Be informed about the collection and use of your data.
  • Access personal data (request a copy of your data).
  • Rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict processing in specific circumstances.

  • Lodge a complaint with the Croatian Data Protection Authority (AZOP) or another EU Member State authority.

6.1. How to exercise your rights

To exercise your rights, email our Data Protection Officer at info@maremons.eu. We will respond within one month (extendable with justification).

6.2. Right to object to direct marketing

If you object to direct marketing, we will immediately stop processing your data for this purpose.

7. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY NOTICE

This Privacy Notice was last updated on 21 October 2026. We may update it periodically. Please review this policy occasionally for changes.

Website enquiries and newsletter subscriptions

Enquiry-form names, email addresses and messages are processed by Web3Forms to forward the enquiry to Mare & Mons. The form service is separate from the website and mailbox hosting. Its submission-history retention is configured to seven days; received emails remain subject to Mare & Mons' mailbox retention practices.

Newsletter names, email addresses and subscription preferences are processed in a dedicated Mare & Mons Brevo account. A subscription requires email confirmation, and each newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Sending an enquiry does not subscribe you to marketing emails.

hCaptcha and Cloudflare Turnstile provide form security checks. These services process technical information needed to distinguish legitimate visitors from automated requests. See the providers' privacy notices: Web3Forms, Brevo, hCaptcha and Cloudflare.
